MANDELA

Rolihlahla Mandela was born in Madiba clan in the village of Mvezo, Transkei, on July 18, 1918. It was customary at the time of giving children a "Christian" name, Nelson was named by his teacher primary school.

Later, he studied a Bachelor of Arts at the College of the University of Fort Hare, but not completed the degree there as it was sent to join in a student demonstration. With the prospect of an arranged marriage, he moved to Johannesburg with her cousin. He was introduced to Lazer Sidelsky and was firm Articles by Eidelman and Sidelsky, Witkin. He received military training in Morocco and Ethiopia and returned to South Africa in July 1962. It is an ideal which I hope to live for and to achieve. but if necessary, it is an ideal for which I am prepared to die. "

On June 11, 1964 Nelson Mandela and seven other defendants were sentenced to life imprisonment. I had to stay in jail until February 1990.

During the following years, he played a role in formal negotiations to end white minority rule in 1991 and was elected president of the ANC. In 1993, he and President FW de Klerk jointly won the Nobel Peace Prize and April 27, 1994, he voted for the first time in his life.

On May 10, 1994, the first democratically elected president of South Africa was inaugurated.

Nelson Mandela never wavered in his commitment to democracy, equality and learning. Despite terrible provocation, he has never answered racism with racism. His life is an inspiration to all who are oppressed and deprived; and all those who oppose oppression and deprivation.

He died at his home in Johannesburg December 5, 2013.
